Mankayam waterfalls


Mankayam waterfalls are located near Palode in Thiruvananthapuram district. This water spectacle can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Mankayam was recently launched as a zone for ecotourism, managed by the State Forest Department. At the Mankayam ecotourism zone, visitors can seek the assistance of guides with the entire activities coordinated by the Vanasamrakshna Samithi (Forest Protection Group), working under the forest department of the State.
Mankayam River is a tributary of Chittar River. The Chittar River originates from the Chemunchi hills and flows through the Brymore forest to form this tributary. Mankayam River on its way produces two waterfalls, one at Kaalakkayam and Kurissadi. The area surrounding the Mankayam waterfall up to Kaalakkayam is covered with dense forests.

Maramala waterfall


Maramala waterfall is situated in Kottayam district. Maramala Waterfall lies a few kms away from Eerattupetta. It is exactly 7 kms from Teekoy rubber estate. In order to reach there one has to trek from TeekoyThe waterfall is about 60 metres in height, falling into a 12-meter deep pool and joins the River Teekoy way down.From there, it's easy to trek trough the estate and get there.The waterfall cascades from a height of 60 meters and slides down about 200 meters to meet the Teekoy river.

Meenvallam waterfalls



Meenvallam waterfall is situated in Palakkad district. The water falls from a height of around 25 ft and the depth of the water is 20 ft. This waterfall has 10 steps and the 8 steps lies in dense forest. Each of these steps has a height that ranges from 5 to 40 m.It originating from the Thuppanadu River - a part of Western Ghats. This place is about 8 km from Thuppanad Junction on Palakkad-Mannarkkad route. Thuppanad Junction is connected by frequent buses from Palakkad. Private vehicles can be hired from here to the falls. About 2 Kms trekking is required to reach these falls which includes crossing Thuppanad River.

Rainbow waterfalls/Keezharkuth waterfalls


Rainbow waterfall is situated about 25 kms from Thodupuzha in Idukki district. The Rainbow waterfalls at Keezharkuth in Idukki, which cascades down a rock from a height of about 1500 m is a wonderful attraction of this spot. It can be seen throughout the year in full swing. The forest around this spot is home to various medicinal plants. It is also called as Keezharkuth waterfalls. Keezharkuthu also offers options for trekking, rock climbing and mountaineering. Thoovanam waterfalls



Thoovanam waterfalls lie in the Chinnar wildlife sanctuary. It is situated near Marayoor in Idukki district. It originates from the part of the Pamba River that flows through the sanctuary. In order to reach this waterfall one has to trek from the Karimutti forest station. The trekking trail to Thoovanam Falls begins at the Alampatty forest station from where tickets for the trek have to be purchased. Being a protected sanctuary, trekking without an entry ticket and guide is not permitted. It takes about an hour to reach the base of the water falls.
If you are lucky, you may even get near to a Giant Grizzled Squirrel, a rare animal for which Chinnar is famous for.
Thoovanam waterfall is about 60 Kms from Munnar hill station.

Lakkam waterfalls,Munnar


Lakkam waterfalls is Located in the Munnar-Marayoor route, the waterfall is surrounded by ‘Vaga trees’. The waterfall originates from the Eravikulam Plateau. Kombaikani and Meenmutti waterfalls


 

Two famous waterfalls on the upper part of Neyyar reservoir are the Kombaikani waterfalls and the Meenmutti waterfalls. It is located 45km  away from the city,  these two splendid waterfalls on the upper reaches of the Neyyar Reservoir area is a favorite location for trekkers and birdwatchers.Meenmutti waterfalls are located near Kallar in Thiruvananthapuram district. About 2 kms from this fall lies the Kombaikani waterfalls. Meenmutti waterfall lies on the way to the Ponmudi hills. These waterfalls and the forests around them are worth seeing. It is a favourite haunt for picnickers and attracts many with an interest in trekking, angling and bird watching.

Dhoni waterfalls


Dhoni waterfall is located on top of Dhoni hills and is about 15 km from Palakkad town and the dense reserve forest surrounding the waterfalls magnifies the beauty of the region. It is an ideal place for trekkers as it requires 3 hours of trekking to reach the top of Dhoni hills. The trekking trail through the wild forest is extremely enchanting, and though the interior regions are rich with wildlife, the route to the waterfalls is safe to tread through. Water from here ultimately feeds Malampuzha Dam.
The ideal time to visit the waterfalls is soon after the monsoon as the surroundings are blessed with newly sprouted greenery and the streams are freshly replenished.

Sentinel Rock Waterfalls(Soochipara waterfalls)


Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is located in Wayanad district of Kerala. Locally known as Soochipara (needle rock) waterfalls, the pool at the foot of the falls is ideal for a quick dip. One of the most attractive falls in the district, the water hits the sharp spikes of granite at the base and hence the name, Sentinel Rock waterfalls. The Sentinel rock,a rock of more than 200m in height, is ideal for rock climbing. This waterfall situated in  is surrounded by dense forests. Kuthumkal Waterfalls



Kuthumkal Waterfalls  features a cascading stream fall from the peak. Cheeyappara Waterfalls



The Cheeyappara Waterfalls is one of the beautiful waterfalls of evergreen Kerala and and is a great eco-tourism destination of the region. It is one of the significant excursion points lying in the region surrounding Cochin. Cheeyappara Waterfalls is a famous destination of tourists visiting Munnar. Munnar, known as Swiss of South India, has a varying terrestrial terrain that consists of water cascades, rolling hills, verdant valleys, dense forests and tea, coffee and spice plantations.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls is one among the many waterfalls of Munnar, which is located at a distance of about 38 km from the town centre. This waterfall is situated in between Adimali and Neriamangalam, adjacent to Munnar to Kochi Highway (NH 49).Cheeyappara Waterfalls is considered among the best waterfalls in the State of Kerala. Cheeyappara Waterfalls runs down from a rocky slope in seven steps. The waterfalls gain its beauty during and after monsoon months of June, July and August and it becomes impossible to reach the bottom of the falls. The water of Cheeyappara Waterfalls does not dry up even in summer months.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls is in the vicinity of 2 acres of evergreen forests which are situated atop a huge rock. Cheeyappara often becomes base camp for trekkers and for the ones who go on nature walks in to these forests. The rock, which is more than 500 acres, is a favourite spot of mountaineers.

Perunthenaruvi Water Falls






Perunthenaruvi Water Falls is a natural Waterfalls in the Pampa river. Located on the Western Ghats of Sahyadri Range. Rather than the height, the stream here over a wide area. It is a spectacular view of the water bubbling over the rocks. The Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls is situated about 36 kms  from Pathanamthitta. The Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls on the banks of the Pamba river is a favourite picnic spot for both domestic and foreign tourists. Here, the water flows down a rocky bed into a ravine about 60 to 100 feet deep.

Power House Waterfalls



Power House Waterfalls is a popular tourist attraction in the hill resort of Munnar of Kerala. It is located on the way to Periyar wildlife Sanctuary of Thekkady from Munnar. This is a scenic spot at a distance of 18 km from Munnar town.

The location of Power House Waterfalls is surrounded by lush green hill ranges of Western Ghats. As per folklore, Sita Devi, of the epic Ramayana, took a bath in this lake which imparted healing property to the lake.

Meenmutty Waterfalls


 Cascading over three stages and falling from a height of over 300 meters, Meenmutty is the tallest waterfall in Wayanad. A long day's trek through the million shades of green takes us to this spectacular waterfall. The murmurs of the river follow our foot steps through the forest all the way to the fills. The force of water striking the dark rocks and splashing high up, to shimmer in the sunrays is a breath- taking scenery. It is situated in the triple point where two other districts Malapuram and Neelgiri join Wayanad in its beauty.The visitors have to trek through the forests to reach the falls and special permission from the forest department is also necessary. A guide will be allotted for the way to the waterfalls. On the way one can enjoy the greenery of forest , various birds and variety of butterflies. Special attention has to be given for the leeches during rainy season.

Aruvikkuzhi waterfalls
