St. Thomas Orthodox Valiya Pally,Kurampala,Pandalam


St. Thomas Orthodox Valiya Pally is situated at Kurampala just one kilometer South of Pandalam Junction, not far away from M.C. Road in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala.

St. Thomas Orthodox Valiya Pally celebrated its Centenary during 2006. The church has three altars. The centre altar is dedicated to St. Thomas, the altar on the northern side is dedicated to St. Mary and the southern side altar in dedicated to St. George. A Chapel is also constructed at Pandalam Town and weekly Holy Qurabana is conducted here. The Holy Relics of the Saint Parumala Thirumeni is kept here

Nayamakad waterfalls


Nayamakad waterfalls is located about 10 kilometers  from Munnar on the way to Rajamala, Nayamakad is a land of breathtaking waterfalls and an endless stretch of verdant greenery. Behold the spectacle of water tumbling onto a fern-fringed pool from a hill at a height of 1600 meters (5333 feet). Enjoy a peaceful mountain walk, stop along the way to take photographs and simply soak up the scenery. Take a walk up to tshe Nayamakad gap to take in brilliant views of the Munnar valley covered with a green carpet of tea plantation.

Banasura Sagar Dam



Banasura Sagar Dam is a part of Indian Banasurasagar Project which was started in 1979. This dam powers the Kakkayan Hydro Electric project in Kerala which was built to satisfy the irrigation and drinking water needs.Banasura Sagar Dam is approximately 25km towards the north west of Kalpetta and it is considered to be the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia. This dam is one of the major tourist attraction in the district of Wayanad, because of its scenic mountain surroundings.

 It is located in the midst of lovely, mist-clad hills with a wildlife sanctuary and park full of flowering trees. With its clear waters Banasura is a wonderful picnic spot.The major attraction about the dam is a set of small islands which was formed when the reservoir submerged the surrounding areas. These islands with the background of Banasura hill provide a hypnotizing sight to tourists. Speed & pedal boats are available to ride.

Mamburam Maqam


Mamburam Maqam (Shrine of Mamburam Thangal) Mamburam, Tirurangadi, Mamburam is located 26 kms from Tirur and on the northern bank of Kadalundi river locally known as Panampuzha. The place is renowned for Makham i.e. shrine. This Makham was built over the grave of Sayyid Hussain Ibn Alabi Jiffer Thangal popularly known as Mamburam Thangal, reached Kerala from Thareem in Yemen two centuries ago.He staunchly opposed the social disparities of that time. History honours him not only as a spiritual leader of Malabar but also as a social reformer and freedom fighter. Mamburam Makham is undoubtedly today one of the busiest Muslim pilgrim centres in South India.He died in the month of Shaban in the Hijira year 1169. It is an important pilgrim centre for Mulsims. The Mamburam Nercha, held in memory of Mamburam Thangal near this tomb, takes place once in a year in the month of Muharram, lasting for a week, will have religious speeches and sessions of prayers. A mass food distribution will mark the finale of the Uroos.

Mananchira lake



Mananchira is a man-made freshwater lake situated in the centre of the city of Kozhikode (Calicut) in Kerala, southern India. The lake is 3.49 acres (14,120 m2) in area, is rectangular in shape and is fed by a natural spring.Mananchira Square is an architectural delight named after the man-made lake Mananchira around which it is situated in the centre of the city. It is named after Manadevan Samoothiri, the erstwhile ruler of the Kozhikode Kingdom, known as Mana-vedan Chira (pond) and later transformed to Mana-an-Chira.. The architecture in Mananchira Square is reminiscent of the intricate craftsmanship of olden times. With its meticulously landscaped lawns, musical fountain& open air theatre, making this makes for a perfect setting to attract tourists
